Best Out of Conference Matchups on the 2025 SEC Football Helmet Schedule

We already know SEC football matchups are the greatest of all matchups. Following are a few of the most intriguing games featuring SEC football teams versus other Power 5 schools this year.

Our favorite out of conference games this season are:

  1. Alabama at Florida State – These two have met 5 times – most recently in 2017 with Bama winning 24-7. Bama holds the edge 3-1-1.
  2. Florida at Miami – Miami has won 30 games to Florida’s 27. Last year Miami beat UF 41-17, so the Gators are looking for revenge.
  3. LSU at Clemson – LSU has a 3-1 record all time against Clemson with the last meeting in the National Championship game back in 2019.
  4. Notre Dame at Arkansas – First meeting between these two. Do you think they’ll be calling the hogs in Fayetteville on September 27th?
  5. Kansas at Missouri – It’s about time these two got back to playing football against each other. They first met in 1891 with Mizzou holding a 56-55-9 edge against the Jayhawks.
  6. Texas at Ohio State – They met in the Cotton Bowl last year with the Buckeyes pulling out a thriller. Overall they’ve played four times with each school winning two games.
  7. Michigan at Oklahoma – The Sooners won the only game these two played against each other back in 1975 in the Orange Bowl.

We sure love the OOC matchups, but the rivalry games are the most anticipated matchups on the SEC schedule each year. From the Iron Bowl between Alabama and Auburn to the Egg Bowl between Mississippi State and Ole Miss, these games are steeped in tradition and always highly competitive.

Some SEC fans plan their entire fall schedules around the football schedule ensuring they don’t miss a single game. From tailgating to traveling to away games, SEC football is a way of life for many fans, and the schedule is a critical part of that experience.

So mark your calendars, clear your schedules, and get ready for another exciting season of SEC football!
